Ecuador Why? - About us.

Why Ecuador, of all places, many people who visit the finca wonder. It's my son's fault. Before studying in Germany, he made a volunteer year in Mindo (1 hour drive from Quito towards the coast). There I visited my son and we traveled like backpackers with buses across the country. I really liked the country and decided to return to take on a new challenge in Germany.
In June 2010 it was time. Emigrate to Ecuador. By chance (and of that there should be some in the near future) I finally came to Ibarra packed in suitcases with my personal belongings.
In October, after some foraging, I bought the land on Lake Yahuarcocha.
At that time it was little more than a dry, bushy area, but I felt right at home here, because with the view of the lake and the two volcanoes Imbabura and Cotacachi, I enjoy the tranquility of the country life. Nevertheless, the finca is only 4 km from the city center of Ibarra.
Piece by piece was begun with the conquest of 12ha large property. The shrubbery was cleared, alfalfa and fruit trees planted and created meadow areas. Electricity, water, paths and buildings were built gradually.
Since I wanted to share this beautiful place with others, one day the idea of a campsite was born. Thus, I am still very much looking forward to travelers from all over the world, who invest on the finca a longer or shorter stay.

Campsite

The campsite is located directly on the lake Yahuarcocha at the northern outskirts of Ibarra on the Panamericana towards Tulcan and is part of the 12-acre finca.
For campers and tents 2 grassy, flat shelves are available.
Water and electricity connections for 110 V and 220 V are available, as well as 3 toilets with hot showers. A Camper-citchen is set up as well as a barbecue area, an information booth and of course WIFI in the entire camping area.
At the weekend is also the German cafe open with cafe and cake as well as breakfast and various menus. Most recently, a beer garden is opened on Fridays with a variety of German beers.
The property is under constant supervision, so that campers or tents can be left there alone, whether by the hour, day or week, z. B. during a trip to the Galapagos Islands or Europe.
By the way, dogs are always welcome.
In Ibarra are next to a number of garages and all other options for shopping, for smaller and larger problems, the team of the finca is happy to help, for example, problems with the vehicle, visa matters or mediation of doctors or medications.
